"Zarro" was the first studio recording of the late Jamaican singer Wayne Smith, who would become the voice of dancehall's digital revolution with "Under Mi Sleng Teng" in 1985. This 1980 recording for producer Prince Jammy, who also produced "Sleng Teng," uses the same backing track as Lacksley Castell's "What A Great Day," also available on 7-inch. Smith's version has never been previously released prior to this 7-inch 45 single and only occasionally heard on Jammy's soundsystem in Jamaica. The "Zarro" he refers to is the TV vigilante Zorro, a masked Disney Western pop culture hero of the 1950s and 60s, who Smith calls out from the "late night movies." In addition to this first recording and the more famous "Under Mi Sleng Teng," Smith also recorded outstanding but obscure LPs for Jammy, including Youthman Skanking in 1982  and Smoker Super in 1985
