The album's title reflects Tyler's idea that people should stop watching from the sidelines—like spectators tapping on the glass of an exhibit—and instead engage with the music by dancing and enjoying the moment. He explained that the concept was inspired in part by seeing concert audiences spend more time recording performances on their phones than actually experiencing them.
