The Koreatown Oddity discovered one day that actors like Idris Elba and Daniel Kaluuya, who gained their fame in their leading roles in American film and TV shows, were actually British. “Like yo, ISTHISFORREAL?” On this new album, Koreatown Oddity – AKA rapper and producer Dominique Purdy – reveals that he isn’t all he seems: a man stuck between two worlds who has everyone believing he’s from L.A., when in fact he too is a genuine British bloke. From dissecting illusions to wise words from his existential landlord, the eleven vignettes of ISTHISFORREAL? explore the title’s question through the Oddity’s eyes.
