‘ABA’ is the debut album by Sudanese singer and oud player Sulaf. It’s a deeply personal tribute to her grandfather, Aba, a Sufi poet who wrote and sang quietly at home, filling family life with music, reflection and joy. Drawing on his songs and spirit, Sulaf reimagines this intimate repertoire through a contemporary lens.
Produced by Maxime Kosinetz (Imarhan, Gruff Rhys), the songs’ Sudanese musical textures
intertwine with tasteful synths, atmospheric soundscapes and spoken word interludes that
deepen the album’s storytelling.
LP includes printed inner sleeve.
