Afro-Cuban music is a fusion of African and Cuban rhythms, evolving from rumba to boléro, mambo to cha-cha-cha, and eventually salsa. CubAfrica is a recent collaboration between master musicians from Africa and Cuba, performing together since 1996. Manu Dibango, known for his history with Latin music, has been influenced by both Cuban and Afro rhythms since the 1960s.
