Jamie Woon’s ‘Mirrorwriting’ is a striking and assured debut that blends soul, electronic production and post-dubstep minimalism into a cohesive and forward-thinking statement.
Emerging from London’s early-2010s electronic scene, Woon established a distinctive sound built on restrained production, deep bass textures, and emotionally direct vocals.
Released in April 2011, ‘Mirrorwriting’ features standout tracks including ‘Night Air’, ‘Lady Luck’ and ‘Shoulda’, and quickly drew critical acclaim for its subtle, atmospheric approach to contemporary R&B and electronic music. The album positioned Woon as one of the most unique voices of his generation, bridging underground electronic influences with classic songwriting sensibilities.
This re-press brings ‘Mirrorwriting’ back to vinyl for the first time in years, reaffirming its status as a modern classic and essential release in the evolution of UK electronic soul.
