Debut album from Ireland’s pre-eminent noisy alt-punk rockers, Gurriers. Following in the wake of the likes of Fontaines D.C. and Sprints, Gurriers are well tipped both in Irish and UK media as the next break-out Irish band.
The album follows a string of well received singles, including the recent ‘Approachable’ and ‘Des Goblin’, which were A-listed and B-listed at 6 Music respectively.
The band have built a formidable live reputation across two years of solid club and festival gigs.
For the most part sonically heavier than their Irish peers, there are less furious moments here such as current single, ‘Top Of The Bill’.
The album’s themes include disillusionment with the modern world, content moderation and the desensitisation to violence, catholic struggle and the rise of the far right among others.
“One of the most exciting debuts of the year” - Dork
End Of The Road and Manchester and Edinburgh Psych Fests pre-release, then 33-date European tour through October / November, including twelve UK and Irish dates, with Bristol sold out already and the others to follow.
