Butho The Warrior - Moody Dub EP

The idea for Moody Dub came from a place of wanting to explore and being given the opportunity and space to do so with no pressure from anyone or label. This debut Ep quickly became a vehicle for experimentation and a chance to collaborate with local artists that Butho adores and values. There was a desire to convey this theatrical feel through the body of work, so a lot of attention and care was afforded to that aspect, as well as to fine tuning the overall texture of sound.
What Moody Dub became was also heavily influenced by the countless research hours Butho spent listening to records in his flat.
Having being surrounded by music from birth, looking back at his life and analysing the connections between Butho and his ancestry, which is rooted in dancing, music, community preservation, food and spirituality, it’s no surprise how intentionally this project has been handled.
Moody Dub the ep is dedicated to the women in ButhoTheWarrior’ s family who have always encouraged his musical interests.
