Way back in 1997, a young punk in Gainesville, FL picked up an acoustic guitar and started a band called Against Me!. One person doesn’t really constitute a ‘band’, so soon thereafter a drummer was added. Slowly, Against Me! collected the necessary members to bring them up to full ‘band’ status. Since that day in 1997, Against Me! have released numerous singles, appeared on a ton of comps and toured the world.
Along with their impassioned music, Against Me!’s success has come from playing anywhere and everywhere, from basement shows and guerilla street performances, to large festivals.
Fat Wreck Chords were lucky enough to grab these guys for their second full length, ‘As The Eternal Cowboy’,
where the band fused influences of blues, folk and American Rock together with a unique punk sound all their
own. From the demos alone, the label knew that they had something momentous on their hands.
