John Pizzarelli returns with one of his finest albums yet, ‘Dear Mr. Bennett’ - a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Tony Bennett, whom he knew personally. The cover even features artwork drawn by Mr. Bennett himself.
A celebrated name in jazz, Pizzarelli has collaborated with music’s biggest stars and toured
for years with Frank Sinatra.
This release follows his acclaimed tributes ‘Dear Mr. Sinatra’, ‘Dear Mr. McCartney’ and ‘Dear Mr. Cole’.
This will be a two-project series based on the music of Tony Bennett.
John is a well-known artist in the Jazz space and a staple in the NY scene. His father was a renowned studio musician and go-to person for years.
Tony Bennett came to a show of John’s and sketched a picture of him performing on a napkin during the show. That picture serves as the cover of the album.
