After their debut, Strange Burden (2024), the\u003cbr\u003eband wanted to reframe their approach to writing. The sound that garnered praise from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and other critical music outlets began to feel\u003cbr\u003eless original. Many of the songs on this new album were built from recordings of improvised sessions in their friends', Dutch Interiors, studio in Long Beach,\u003cbr\u003eCalifornia, where they wrote for three weeks in the summer of 2025. After the band was able to break the mold they created on the first album, they found the\u003cbr\u003ebones of what American Bully XL became.\u003cbr\u003e\"We were guided by many of the same questions that guided our first record, such as: Where does the acoustic end and the electronic begin?
